J.P. Wiser's 15. Image courtesy Corby Spirit & Wine. This whisky is blended from primarily corn and rye whiskies matured in a combination of new oak, first-fill ex-Bourbon, and used Canadian Whisky casks. The nose has notes of buttered popcorn, toasted oak, soft spices, and hints of toffee and caramel candy. The taste starts off sweet with toffee and caramel candy notes, followed by dried apples and apricots, subtle touches of clove and nutmeg, and a hint of wintergreen mint that adds balance. The finish is long and smooth with gently fading spices and a touch of dried fruits. (December, 2017)
