Producing WhiskyCast has given me the opportunity to taste some really amazing whiskies, and I’m pleased to share my tasting notes with you here. You can search my entire database of tasting notes from this page, and I hope you’ll find it useful.
The first in a new series of releases from Bladnoch following the distillery’s revival, this no-age-statement single malt is blended from a range of older Bladnoch whiskies at least eight years old and finished in a combination of ex-Bourbon and first-fill California red wine casks.
The nose is fruity and vibrant with notes of fresh berries, orange pekoe tea, vanilla, and a hint of plums. The taste starts off dry and sweet, then turns fruity with orange peel, a hint of mango, vanilla, plums, red grapes, and a good maltiness in the background. The finish is subtle and smooth with hints of berry cobbler and red grapes. (March, 2017)
