Producing WhiskyCast has given me the opportunity to taste some really amazing whiskies, and I’m pleased to share my tasting notes with you here. You can search my entire database of tasting notes from this page, and I hope you’ll find it useful.
This is the third release in Teeling’s Revival series of whiskeys commemorating the opening of their Dublin distillery in 2015. The 14-year-old single malt was originally distilled at Cooley when it was owned by the Teeling family, and was finished in Pineau des Charentes wine casks from France.
The nose is fruity with notes of pineapple, mango, green grapes, and a touch of toffee. The taste is dark and rich with cocoa, dark chocolate, toffee, honey, green grapes, subtle spices, and a hint of hazelnut. The finish is subtle and aromatic with dark chocolate, honey, and a lingering touch of hazelnut. Nice! (March, 2017)
