Nomad Outland Whisky. Image courtesy Gonzalez Byass. Nomad takes a blend of Scotch whiskies overseen by Richard Paterson and ships them in bulk to Gonzalez Byass in Jerez, Spain, where the whisky is filled into the bodega’s own Pedro Ximenez Sherry casks for a year of finishing time. The nose is rich with dark fruits, brandy, muted spices, honey, molasses, and baked oranges. The taste is fruity, dark, and thick with notes of cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, plums, and hints of licorice and almond oil. The finish is long and dry with a good balance of spices, honey, and a hint of almond. (September, 2016)
