This Bourbon from Luxco master blender John Rempe takes three unique Kentucky Bourbons and blends them together to create a sum greater than the whole of its parts. Rye-focused, wheat-focused, and a Port-finished Bourbon come together smoothly with a good balance of muted spices, fruity notes of orange peel, nectarines, and peaches, touches of brown sugar, oak, and vanilla. The taste has a caramel sweetness balanced by cinnamon spice and notes of vanilla, orange peel, nectarines, and dark chocolate. The finish has a bitter baking chocolate taste, along with lingering spices and hints of oak, vanilla, and citrus tartness. Excellent! (July, 2016)
