Glenmorangie Tayne. Image courtesy Glenmorangie. The second expression in Glenmorangie’s Legends Collection for travel retail is finished in Amontillado Sherry casks, and the nose has a good combination of dried flowers, a light nuttiness, apricots, and hints of figs and toffee in the background. The taste is dry and darkly spicy at first with black pepper and clove notes, but tropical fruits come alive as the spices fade with orange peel and mango notes and just a bit of toffee in the background to hold it all together. The finish is dry with bitter baking chocolate, dried apricots, and orange peel. Excellent! (May, 2016)
