Trail's End Bourbon. Image courtesy Hood River Distillers. This is a unique Bourbon – distilled and first matured in Kentucky, then finished in Oregon Oak casks by Hood River Distillers. The nose is sweet with molasses and brown sugar notes, touches of cedar and pine that balance the oakiness, muted spices, and hints of linseed oil and vanilla. The taste is light at first, followed by a spicy clove note that builds up strongly along with hints of linseed oil, vanilla, and honey underneath and touches of brown sugar and dark chocolate in the background. The finish has a nice spiciness that lasts a while with hints of brown sugar and honey underneath. (April, 2016)
