Glenmorangie 1977 Vintage. Photo ©2015 by Mark Gillespie. This whisky was originally released after 28 years of maturation in ex-Bourbon casks, but a few bottles were later discovered in the company’s old Broxburn warehouse and re-bottled as part of the Glenmorangie 1970’s Collection.

The nose is intense and aromatic, but still smooth with a subtle smokiness and hints of chocolate mint, vanilla, banana, and coconut. The taste has subtle hints of smoke, anise, black tea with lemon and honey, coconut, banana, and orange peel. The finish is long, fruity, and slightly tart. An amazing whisky! (September, 2015)
