Tomatin 12 French Oak. Image courtesy Tomatin. This expression is exclusive to North America, and was matured for 9 years in ex-Bourbon casks before being filled into French Oak wine casks for the final three years of maturation.

The nose has notes of shortbread cookies, red apples, a nice maltiness, vanilla, coconut, and a hint of raspberry jam. The taste has a good balance of sweet and spice with clove balanced by marzipan, cream cheese on a bagel, and a touch of butterscotch. The finish is creamy, smooth, and long with butterscotch and a return of the raspberry jam note from the nose along with a hint of malt. Very nice. (June, 2015)
