Glenfiddich Ultimate 38 Single Malt Scotch. Image courtesy William Grant & Sons. Just 600 bottles of this single malt were produced in 2014 for the Chinese market from a combination of ex-Bourbon casks and ex-Sherry butts.

The nose is creamy and smooth with notes of vanilla, toffee, oak, peaches, apricots, and a hint of straw. The taste is woody, but well-balanced with vanilla, honey, brown sugar, and caramelized ginger for a thick, oily mouthfeel. The finish is long, smooth, and fruity with touches of honey and brown sugar underneath. Excellent! (January, 2015)
