Speyburn Clan Cask. Image courtesy Inver House Distillers. This expression was produced exclusively for the members of Speyburn’s Clan Speyburn affinity group, and comes from an ex-Pedro Ximenez Sherry cask filled in 1975 and bottled in 2012 at cask-strength.

The nose is complex and thick with notes of cooked fruits, hints of cinnamon and clove, treacle, hot fudge topping, orange peel, butterscotch, and a touch of pecans. The taste has orange oils, Christmas cake, clove, cinnamon, figs, dates, and a hint of roasted nuts. The finish is dry and slightly astringent with notes of dried apricots, apples, and bananas, along with the lingering clove and cinnamon notes from the palate in great balance. Outstanding!
