Producing WhiskyCast has given me the opportunity to taste some really amazing whiskies, and I’m pleased to share my tasting notes with you here. You can search my entire database of tasting notes from this page, and I hope you’ll find it useful.
This is one of 11 special blends created by William Grant & Sons Malt Master Brian Kinsman with help from whisky ambassadors at World Duty Free’s World of Whisky stores in the UK and Spain, with each store getting its own bespoke blend.
The Manchester edition’s nose is aromatic with woody notes of oak and cedar, freshly baked bread, soft spices, honey, brown sugar, and vanilla with good balance and complexity. The taste starts off with licorice and lemon zest, followed by a burst of lemon pepper and notes of earthy garden soil, cinnamon, green apples, coconut, vanilla, and hints of oak. The finish is long, spicy, and tart with cinnamon baked apples, hints of honey, brown sugar, and a soft oakiness. (October, 2014)
