Auchentoshan Valinch 2012 Release. Image courtesy Morrison Bowmore Distillers. This cask-strength and non-chill filtered 2012 release of Valinch is based on the Auchentoshan Classic, but with the volume turned up to 11.

The nose has notes of vanilla custard, straw, hints of citrus, and soft spices. The taste starts off thick and creamy at first, followed by good spicy notes of cinnamon and allspice with touches of orange peel and vanilla underneath. The finish is long and fruity with a good underlying spiciness. Very nice. (July, 2014)
